in other news, au revoir simone’s concert in milan was pretty epic, but of course we didn’t expect any less from the lovely brooklyn based trio. the new songs are beautiful, and yesterday night it was hard not to notice how much they were all proud of their new record and were having a lot of fun playing the new tunes, heather rocking out the drum machine as usual, and annie & erika trying out the bass.
their new record still night, still light has all the sonorities that made us fall in love with ars music in the first place, but it is enhanced by a more mature, darker, eerier sound. it’s quite hypnotic, also. you should all go to aurevoirsimone.com and pre-order the album/vinyl (or buy it in shops if you’re in europe) and check out their tour schedule because you won’t regret seeing them live.
